‘SITOGLU’ Harnup Pekmezi, HALAL & KOSHER
A very popular Turkish staple, Pekmez, this is Harnup Pekmezi, made from carob (locust bean). Like the standard grape pekmez, it is made by boiling down mulberries. It is eaten in the same way as grape pekmezi. It is often mixed with tahin, a sesame paste, and spread on bread for breakfast.
